Grand Central Madison es una nueva estación de Long Island Rail Road que pronto abrirá debajo de Grand Central Terminal. La estación ahora ofrecerá lo que la MTA describe como "una transferencia fluida entre los trenes de Long Island Rail Road y Metro-North Railroad".

No tener que viajar entre Grand Central y Penn Station sin duda les ahorrará a los viajeros mucho tiempo y dolores de cabeza, pero ahora también les ahorrará mucho dinero.

La MTA ha anunciado que ofrecerá un nuevo boleto combinado, que ofrecerá un gran descuento a quienes viajen hacia y desde Long Island. El boleto solo costará el precio de temporada baja en el primer tramo de su viaje más ocho dólares adicionales. Por ejemplo, un boleto de Beacon a Montauk solo costará $25.50. Eso es $17.50 hasta Grand Central y solo $8 más para cualquier destino en Long Island. Estos boletos son válidos para viajes en horas pico o fuera de horas pico.

El boleto combinado especial solo estará disponible para las estaciones de Metro-North al este del río Hudson.

Los boletos también le permitirán pasar tiempo en la ciudad de Nueva York antes de continuar su viaje. Si viaja desde Long Island o Hudson Valley, tendrá hasta las 4 a. m. del día siguiente para usar el segundo tramo de su viaje.

Los boletos combinados estarán disponibles a principios de 2023 a través de las máquinas expendedoras de boletos y la aplicación MTA TrainTime.
