Summer isn't over yet, and an Orange County, NY park is getting ready to celebrate with its latest improvement.

It's a good time to be an Orange County resident, with expansions coming to local parks in multiple towns. While Newburgh, NY gets ready to unveil their massive new community center, their neighbor has something else up its sleeves.

New Youth-Focused Park Projects in the Hudson Valley

The project is the latest in the line of initiatives aimed at younger community members. Across the river in Beacon, NY, for example, youth input led to the installation of an art wall (below). The Orange County project, however, is a little wider in scope.

New Skatepark Coming to Warwick, NY in Orange County

"New additions to Memorial Park are taking shape!", began the recent announcement from the Village of Warwick (below). Photos showed the progress of Veteran's Memorial Park's latest addition: a community skatepark.

Community Action Helps Make Warwick, NY Skatepark Possible

As the post shared, the project was made possible by the Warwick Skatepark Initiative, which not only championed the skatepark, but helped secure sponsorships of specific park features to help offset costs.

New Project in Warwick, NY Is More than "Just" a Skatepark

In addition to the skatepark, which will be open to skateboards, skates, and scooters, there's also plans for something rarely seen in the Hudson Valley: a "pump track" (below).

While the quarter pipes and rails of the skatepark are used for tricks, the pump track (made possible by the Warwick Lions Club) is available for cyclists to literally "pump" their way around the track, using gravity and momentum to carry them through the dips and bumps.

Eager residents can check out the latest progress of the park during National Night Out on Tuesday, August 5th. The Village of Warwick is hosting their celebrations at Veteran's Memorial Park from 5pm to 8pm (below).
