Warning Issued After Scammers Target Dutchess County Fair Ticket Buyers
If you're planning to attend one of the biggest events of the summer in the Hudson Valley, you'll want to be extra careful before buying your Dutchess County Fair tickets. With the fair just a few weeks away, scammers are already trying to take advantage of excited fairgoers.
According to a post on the Dutchess County Fair's official Facebook page, they've become aware of scammers claiming to have "extra tickets" or saying their "plans changed" and they're now selling admission tickets or ride wristbands through Facebook comments, direct messages, and Marketplace.
The Fair says those offers are fake.
Dutchess County Fair Warns About Ticket Scam
Fair officials say there are only two places you should buy Dutchess County Fair admission tickets and ride wristbands: directly through the Fair's official website or at the Fairgrounds gate. If someone reaches out on social media offering tickets, or you see someone selling them in the comments of a Facebook post or on Marketplace, officials say it's a scam, and you shouldn't send them any money.

They also encourage anyone with questions about tickets to contact the Fair directly before making a purchase.
When Is the 2026 Dutchess County Fair?
The 2026 Dutchess County Fair returns to the Fairgrounds in Rhinebeck from Tuesday, August 25, through Sunday, August 30. It's the largest six-day county fair in New York State and features carnival rides, live entertainment, agricultural exhibits, animals, food vendors, games, shopping and plenty more.
How Much Do Dutchess County Fair Tickets Cost?
If you buy your tickets in advance, general admission is $15 for adults, while children 10 and under get in free. Adult admission at the gate is $18. Unlimited ride wristbands are also available for $33 in advance or $40 at the gate. Seniors (65+) and military members with valid ID can also receive discounted admission when purchasing tickets at the walk-up window.
